Mary Ruth Moddle, 81, of Manchaca, formerly of Buda and Marble Falls, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008.
She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother born May 11, 1927 in Weslaco, Texas, to Grover Cleveland Pinson, Sr. and Annie Roonie Hattley-Pinson.
She was a homemaker and worked part-time for the U.S. Postal Service, Co-op Gin, and Oil Company in Elsa, Texas. Also was a member of the Fireman’s Auxliary-Elsa, District and State. She was a member and served with the women of the Church of First Presbyteian Church of Elsa and St. Andrew Presbyterian Church of Marble Falls.
She moved from Weslaco, to Elsa, to Austin, to Marble Falls, to Buda due to health complications, and on to Manchaca due to failing health.
Ruth was preceeded in death by her parents, sister, brothers and husband of 54 years, Lawrence John Moddle.
Ruth is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Jackie Moddle of McDonough, GA; Greg and Sharon Moddle of Marble Falls; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and roger Fields of Manchaca and Laura and Mike Bass of Burnet; grand-children, Jonathan Moddle of Forest, VA, Cyndee and husband Marty Johnson of Harwood, TX, Jennifer Moddle of Washington, D.C. and Kimberly Bass of Burnet; great-grand-children, Brylee, Kascee and Grady Johnson of Harwood; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Lola Beth Pinson of Weslaco; Mozelle Pinson of Victoria, Mildred and Elmer Krehbiel of Bryan and Janet Brooks of Edinburg and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 19, at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Marble Falls.
