Let’s play “footsie!” There will be a free footsie tournament at the Onion Creek Senior Citizens Center on Friday, Feb. 5. Pre-register at the center on Thursdays or register the day of the tournament from 9 until 9:30 a.m., with play starting at 9:30. A lunch will be served at noon. Buda HEB shoppers can help feed hungry people in Hays County by purchasing pre-made bags of food or making a donation using coupons at the check out stands. The Super Bowl of Caring runs until Feb. 7. Look for the display at the local store.

This Saturday, Jan. 23, is the start of the annual Girl Scout cookie sales. Cookies can be purchased for $3.50 per box until Feb. 26. Proceeds directly benefit the Girl Scouts of Central Texas, which serves more than 20,000 girls in grades K-12. Be sure to buy a box or two, they are really good.

The 18th annual membership meeting of the Friends of the Buda Library will be held at the Basil Anthony Moreau Library on Sun., Jan. 31. The group will gather at 2 p.m. to recognize the library staff and volunteers, hold a short business meeting, enjoy refreshments and visit with all the friends.
