Hays County mourned the loss of U.S. Army Capt. Paul Peña on Tuesday as his casket arrived in San Marcos by motorcade from Randolph Air Force base. Peña, a San Marcos Academy graduate, died Jan. 19 while on a foot patrol in the Kandahar province of Afghanistan. His mother, Cecelia Peña is a longtime Kyle Elementary School teacher.
