Monta David Foster, 85, of Kyle and formerly of Yoakum, died Tuesday, January 26, 2010. He was born on January 19, 1925 in Chelsea, Okla. to Dewey Bryan Foster and Bramlett Cullum. He served in the U.S. Army and graduated from Texas A&M. Monta was employed and retired from Central Power and Light.

He is survived by his daughter, Nita Rico of Kyle; grandchildren, Toye Tanner Stanaland and husband Beau, Jessica Rico Salinas and husband Jason and Angela Rico Mireles and husband David; great-grandchildren, Braxton Rico, Foster Rico, Baleigh Mireles, Luke Stanaland, Jarrett Salinas and Jorja Salinas; sister, Sue Woodman; and many nieces and nephews.

His wife, Mildred Hobbs Foster; parents; brothers and great-grandson Jaxxon Salinas preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 30, at Faith Assembly of God in Buda with burial at Salem Cemetery in Hallettsville.
