UPDATED 1:45 p.m. FRIDAY, SEPT. 3: New Braunfels police say that a patrol officer stopped a white Ford pickup around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 4800 block of IH-35 heading southbound.

Once stopped, the officer discovered a body in the open bed of the truck, which was “wrapped up in some kind of plastic,” New Braunfels Police Lt. Mike Penshorn said Friday.

Hays County Sheriff’s Office has taken over the case and two male suspects remain under their custody. Sheriff’s office spokesperson Deputy Mike Thielen said that he was not aware if the two suspects have been arrested and would not release the name of the victim or any other details.

“They’re still working it, trying to piece everything together,” Thielen said Friday.
