Louis W. Duerr, 81, of Buda, formerly of East Northport, New York passed away Friday, September 3, 2010. He was born on March 25, 1929.
Louis graduated from Mulenberg College in 1942 with a B.A. in Business Administration. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Trieste, Italy across from Yugoslavia during the Cold War. He worked in the Armored Division with tanks. An honorable discharge was issued to him as a PFC for service from July 1951 until June 1953. Louis was a Sunday school teacher at St. Peters in Huntington, New York and was a Boy Scout Master in East Northport, New York.
Survivors are his wife, Helen Duerr; son, Alan Duerr; daughter-in-law, Judy Duerr; grandson, Lee Duerr; granddaughter, Toni Duerr and sister-in-law, Mildred Schnopp.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 7 at Harrell Funeral Home in Kyle, officiated by Pastor Tim Anderson. Burial was at Onion Creek Memorial Park.
