STAFF REPORTS

As part of ongoing construction work along Dacy Lane (CR 205) to improve safety and mobility, Dacy Lane from north of Seton Parkway to south of Downing Way will be closed to through traffic for the construction of a four-lane bridge with sidewalks over Bunton Creek.

The road will be closed beginning Dec. 20 and is expected to be closed for six months. During the construction, traffic northbound on Dacy Lane will be detoured onto westbound Kyle Parkway to the northbound IH-35 frontage road, then east on Bebee Road and back to Dacy Lane.

Southbound Dacy Lane traffic will be detoured east on Bebee Road, south on Goforth Road and west on Goforth Road/Bunton Branch, then back to Dacy Lane.

The improvements to Dacy Lane are funded by Hays County and the city of Kyle.

I understand progress, but this sure is going to be a pain.

It’ll be great to have sidewalks as I see many kids and even adults with their kids walking in the dark along this narrow road.

This will really make it a pain to get to Lehman from Kensington, but will be SO worth it in the end. Very happy to see this project coming to fruition.

Bummer that the road is closing but I agree that change and improvements are necessary to make Dacy Lane safer for all travelers and pedestrians. I live in Kensington Trails subdivision so it will take a little while to adjust.

Why don’t they wait until the bridge under construction at CR 133 is finished first? It’s already diverting enough traffic on Dacy.

I am so glad to hear that people who live on the east side of I-35 are so tolerant and patient with regards to this roadwork. And that they understand the importance that the rehabilitation of Dacy Road will ultimately bring. Although I don’t live over there with you, I am totally sympathetic. I will keep you all in my thoughts – and hope that they are able to bring this road to completion in record time.

And for the next 6 months, I promise to stop cursing the traffic when I can’t get out of my driveway. Instead, I’ll just be patient and think about your frustration – and how lucky I am to live in this community.

    Hang in there!

I agree with most of you. There are definite safety issues involved here with pedestrian traffic.
