Update: I-35 is back to normal.

Previous: Northbound traffic is at a standstill for miles of Interstate 35 in Buda and Kyle.

Only one lane is open near the FM 2001 exit as Buda police investigate the scene of a fatal wreck that occurred last week. The line of idling cars stretches from the FM 2001 exit in Buda almost to the Center Street exit in Kyle.

Buda police expect I-35 to be reopened by noon.

In the wreck on Aug. 30, a San Antonio man was killed when he drove his minivan into the back of a Fedex tractor trailer that had stopped for a road construction delay.

Police say 50-year-old Henry John Hatten’s car left no skid marks when he hit the 18-wheeler.

First of all they should have advertised that the road would be closed on such day. that way motorists could take other routes. they should have at least advertised with signs on the freeways going both ways.
Second of all what is there to investigate… no skid marks? then he wasn’t paying attention to traffic and didn’t see what was up ahead of him. so it was his fault..
    the man that got killed.

If you read the articule(sp) correctly You would see it was an accident and they don’t advertise those. You should have a little patience and empathy before spouting off your negative remarks.Seems to me maybe he had a heart attack,or stroke of fell asleep due to being up all night trying to get to his family for an emergency!Maybe a little reserve for his family would be nice…

I agree with Tina, condolences for the family.

This man was a close friend of mine, didn’t drink and as far as I know a careful driver. This was nothing but an accident and that section of the I 35 corridor is known for traffice accidents and congestion. I don’t know the reasoning behind his death other than he should have been paying attention to the flow of traffic. His death was tragic in that it never should have taken place. He will be greatly missed.
