Do well, be well with diabetes

Hays area residents living with Type 2 diabetes can take part in the “Do Well, Be Well with Diabetes” classes offered through the Hays County Diabetes Coalition and the Texas AgriLife Extension Service.

The program begins March 1 and runs each Thursday for five weeks. Topics include understanding diabetes, managing your blood sugar, nutrition, exercise, medicines and preventing complications. Participants will receive a resource binder with handouts and other educational resources. Healthy refreshments will also be served.

Classes will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Texas AgriLife Extension Service meeting room located at 1253 Civic Center Loop in San Marcos. The cost for the series will be $20 per person. Class size is limited; contact the Extension office at 512-393-2120 or ljpetty@tamu.edu to register. Family members are also encouraged to attend. There is no charge for family members with a paying attendee.
