Dr. and Mrs. T.C. McCormick have ties with the Buda community that stretch back 66 years, moving to town just 4 years into their 70-year marriage. Since settling in Buda in 1946, they’ve been active members of the community serving in such roles as mayor, school board trustee and post mistress. It’s been estimated that Doc McCormick delivered between 1,600 and 1,800 babies in the Kyle and Buda area during the second half of the last century. He has also been credited with being a quiet champion of early desegregation through his medical practice. The McCormicks will celebrate their platinum wedding anniversary with their children on Thursday, June 28.
