Hays Magic youth softball team qualifies for National Championships

The Hays Magic 8U Softball All-Stars are headed to the 2012 PONY Girls Softball World Series Nationals.

The World Series Nationals will take place in Mandeville, Louisiana’s Pelican Park July 24-29.

Before qualifying for nationals, the Hays Magic 8U Softball All Stars won medals in all four tournaments they entered in June.

The Magic started their season playing in the Round Rock Pony All-Star Tune-Up tournament and placed third out of 12 Austin area teams during the first weekend in June. They placed 2nd the following weekend in the Georgetown “Bring The Heat” All Star Tournament with a one-run loss in the final, but pulled out a championship first-place win on Father’s Day weekend at the “Cedar Park Battle.”

The Hays Magic went undefeated in a 10-team bracket to win the All-Star Warm-Up tournament at Buda Sportsplex.
