Grace L. Davis, LCSW, has been named the new executive director of the Hays Caldwell Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (HCCADA), a nonprofit agency organized in 1984 by professionals concerned about substance abuse and related problems. Davis fills the position left vacant by Sue Cohen, who retired in January, 2012, after 18 years of service to the community.
According to Board President Lisa Pacheco, Davis’ ties to the local community, her enthusiasm and experience helped make her the right choice. Davis is a licensed therapist and has years of experience providing services to adolescents and adults.
Davis holds bachelor’s degrees in social work and art (Spanish) from Southwest Texas State University – San Marcos and a master’s degree in social work from Our Lady of the Lake University – San Antonio.
HCCADA’s mission is to promote community and family enrichment through substance abuse education, prevention and treatment. HCCADA provides alcohol and drug prevention and education services, outpatient treatment, counseling, intervention and treatment referrals.
