The first official day of fall is Sept. 22, but your Kyle Parks and Recreation Department has already been busy planning and organizing all the fall events and programs. Here is the list, so mark your calendars.
Adult Kickball – The 2013 winter season starts Oct. 1, when team registration opens. Some changes this new season include two extra games during the regular season and a paperless, online registration process for the players and teams. Sign up to 16 players per team for women’s or co-ed teams. Registration is Oct. 1-19 and games start in November.
Kyle Fair – The 2012 Kyle Fair and Music Festival will once again be held at Thunderhill Raceway, and the Chamber of Commerce will be taking registrations for vendors and BBQ cookers. The Founders Day Parade will be Saturday, Oct. 20, beginning at 10 a.m.
Bass Fishing Tournament – The Fall tournament will be on Saturday, Nov. 3, and registration begins October 1st. The proceeds raised from this event fund the youth fishing clinic and derby held in June. Sponsors are needed to encourage the top bass anglers in the area to participate and win prizes. Please contact the Kyle PARD office if you would like to be a sponsor.
Santa’s Arrival – Technically, the Wednesday after Thanksgiving is still autumn, so we can let you know that Santa will be in Kyle Nov. 28. This annual event includes local school choirs performing, the lighting of the city Christmas Tree, seasonal vendors and, of course, visits with Santa. We will be sending out more information but mark the calendar now.
Registration and details for all these programs can be found online at www.kylepard.com or you may call the Kyle Parks and Recreation Department at (512) 262-3939.
