Kyle Police Captain Pedro Hernandez shows off the department’s mobile RV that will serve as a Command Post and Crime Scene Unit. Kyle PD acquired this vehicle from the state free-of-charge. The 1998 Chevrolet RV has about 25,000 miles and recently received its new lettering trumpeting the efforts of Kyle’s finest. Police Chief Jeff Barnett said the vehicle will be displayed to the public on Sat. Oct. 20 during the Kyle Founders’ Parade. “We’re excited about the opportunity to put a vehicle that we received free from the state into good use in Kyle,” he said. Barnett said the vehicle can presently be used as a command post, but in the next few months in-house equipment will be put into the RV to get it ready to serve as a Crime Scene Unit.
