Construction set to begin on FM 1626

Posted by on Oct 24th, 2012 and filed under For Front Page Use, Hays County, Top Stories.

STAFF REPORT

Construction is set to begin on FM 1626 between FM 967 and Brodie Lane on Monday, Oct. 29. The contractors will be posting signage and setting up barricades.

The project expands the roadway from two lanes to four lanes with a turn lane and median, reducing the number of dangerous curves and dips. The road work will be completed by fall 2014.

The website for this project, www.improve1626.com, will include a two-week look-ahead that will allow travelers to plan for delays or consider alternate routes.

The Office of Pct. 2 Commissioner Mark Jones will be available to answer questions about this 2008 voter-approved road bond project.

Contact the office at (512) 262-2091 or email Executive Assistant Jennifer Scott at Jennifer.Scott@co.hays.tx.us.
