This past Saturday, the Gearheads, a Buda based car club, held their fourth annual car show. There were over 240 cars and motorcycles registered from around Texas. The club presented trophies for the Top 50 Cars and Top 10 Motorcycles, as well as their traditional “People’s Choice” and “Gearheads Choice.” Gearheads Choice went to the 1959 Bel Air belonging to Cody Pyle, and People’s Choice went to “Tow mater,” a whimsical 1955 Chevy wrecker owned by Matthew Ronshausen. Proceeds from the show benefit a scholarship fund that allows students from Hays CISD Automotive Technical classes to continue their education at the technical school/college of their choice. To date, the Gearheads have given over $10,000 to the students of Hays County. The fifth annual car show is scheduled for Oct. 19, 2013.
