Our dad, Harold Poehl, 88, of Manchaca, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012. He was born on May 24, 1924, in Burleson, Texas. He is being joyfully reunited with his wife of 47 years, Beverly; his mother and father, Edith and Christian Poehl; his siblings, L.D., Raymond, Walter, Ralph, Lydia, and Lorene and many friends who went to Heaven before him.

Harold leaves behind his four children – Peggy, Bubba, Debbie, and Karen along with their spouses – Bob, Ann, Jody, Brad and their families. Dad leaves behind 11 grandkids – Rob, Devin, Jamie, Linette, Glynis, Keetha, Caitlyn, Lexi, Christian, Eric, and Charles and eight great grandkids. He also leaves behind two sisters, Irene Reynolds and Ruth Wissen.

Dad served during World War II with his four brothers. Returning from war, he married Beverly Ann Prather and went to work as a printer for the Steck Co. Dad was a throwback to a time when people worked most of their life for one company. His greatest joys in life were golf, dominoes, playing washers, watching NASCAR and football on television and eating Dan’s Hamburgers. However, being with his family, especially the kids, was his greatest pleasure.

Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 26, 2012. Burial was at Onion Creek Memorial Park.
