The Buda Economic Development Corporation has hired a new executive director after months without a leader.
The EDC board of directors selected Ann Marie Miller on Tuesday. Miller currently serves as Vice-President of Economic Development at the Ada Jobs Foundation in Oklahoma.
She holds a B.S. in marketing from Oklahoma State University. She is also a graduate of the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute.
The search process began this summer after the departure of Warren Ketteman, who had served as Buda’s EDC director for nine years.
In July, the board of directors hired a search firm to conduct a nationwide search for candidates.
“I’m so glad the search process is over,” said Buda EDC Board President Sandra Tenorio. “This is a fresh start for a new year. And we’re moving ahead.”
There were 10 top candidates narrowed to the top two, Tenorio said.
“I’m glad we had two really great candidates to chose from,” Tenorio said. “We’re so excited about Ann Marie. We think she’s going to be fabulous. She is really prepared to step into this job and her enthusiasm and energy is really going to help get her going here.”
Miller’s base salary is $95,000 plus benefits, Tenorio said.
Miller starts the job Jan. 2.
