Buda resident Louis Moreno, father of Mark Moreno, who was diagnosed with leukemia following a dental visit, reports this week that the blood marrow drive held at Dahlstrom Middle School Nov. 17 was a huge success.
The drive saw 96 people register to donate blood marrow.
A match was found for Mark, and he is expected to receive the new blood marrow cells Dec. 7.
A 2006 Hays High School graduate, 24-year-old Mark is currently in Houston receiving treatment in advance of this “re-birth” with the new blood marrow, Louis Moreno said.
“I can’t thank everyone enough for coming out,” Louis said.
