William Ray Jancha, Sr. (2012)

William Ray Jancha, Sr., 75, of Buda, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012 due to an unexpected illness (peripheral T-cell lymphoma).

He was raised on a family farm in South Texas and put himself through college at Texas A & I by selling livestock. He, served in the U.S. Army before marrying Lila May (Mickie) Arnold in 1963. He fathered five children, three “step children” and two of his own, before beginning his career in human resources at Lockheed Martin Corporation. After he retired from the Lockheed Martin Corporation and the death of his wife, he attained his real estate license but, decided to enjoy the retirement life. He was a dedicated father who loved his children and wife dearly. He had a passion for nature, gardening, hunting, fishing, etc. He also loved his grandchildren. They brought him much joy in life. He later met a wonderful woman named Alice Ewald with whom he spent many hours upon the dance floor. They would dance in excess of three nights a week and traveled extensively in their camper. He was a devoted member of the Buda Methodist Church. He is survived by his “friend” Alice, “step-children” Randy, Tim, Karen and his two sons William Jr. and David. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday December 29 at Harrell Funeral Home in Kyle.
