On Friday evening, the Lehman baseball team pounded out eight runs on ten hits in an 8-3 victory over Willis High School in the Brazos Valley Invitational Baseball Tournament.
Senior Hunter Lehman played an instrumental role for the Lobos offense, as Lehman went 2 for 4 at the plate, scoring two runs and driving in one via a solo home run. Trace Gonzales and senior DJ Trejo would assist the Lobo effort with four total RBI’s driven in between the players.
Pitching made the difference in the contest, as the Lobos held Willis to only three runs on eight hits in the game. Junior Mark Garcia completed four solid innings, giving up one earned run on five hits in his outing, which was enough for Garcia to earn the win.
Lehman improves their record to 2-1 in the Brazos Valley Tourney, 3-1 overall. Lehman will complete play in the Brazos Valley tournament on Saturday, as Lehman faces off against Crosby at 10 a.m, followed by a game against College Station at 1 p.m.
