Shelby Jo Montano of Hometown Kyle was recently diagnosed with the kidney disease Cresentic & Pauci immune Glomerulonephritis. This is a rare occurrence in someone so young. Her family was unprepared for the high cost of treatment. Co-workers of her mom, Rhonda, who works for Hays CISD Child Nutrition, are hosting a bar-b-que benefit to raise money for Shelby Jo’s treatment. The event takes place from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. March 9 at 105 Saucedo Street in Kyle. Join the family for brisket, sausage, beans and potato salad. Plates cost $6.50 and all proceeds will benefit Shelby Jo’s medical expenses.
