Lobo powerlifters make history as state runners up

It was all smiles this week at Lehman High as the Lady Lobos made history as state runners up in power lifting. The team includes (left to right) Coach Trey Rose, Alyssa Gaitan, Kat Mohle, Natalie Guerra, Jessica Gonzalez and Coach Eric Ray. Blanca Villegas is also a member of the team. The Lobos competed at the THSWPA State Championships in Corpus Christi on Friday. State qualifiers included Gonzalez, 105 lb weight class; Gaitan, 114 lb; Mohle and Villegas, 165 lb; and Guerra, 220 lb. The three Lobo medalists included Gaitan and Guerra in second place and Gonzalez in third place, placing the Lobos as 4A State Runner Up to Port Lavaca Calhoun which won its eighth consecutive state title.
