On March 19, the Lady Lobos softball team traveled to Lockhart and came away with an important 3-2 victory. Sophomore pitchers Angel Cruz and Erin Mendoza were stellar in the circle, as both players only allowed a combined five hits on the evening.
Cruz would help her own cause on the offensive side, going 2 for 3 at the plate. Loren Pizzini, Clarissa Rayos and Alexis Trotter would contribute key RBI hits in the win for Lehman.
“This was a big win for our softball program,” said Lady Lobo softball head coach Bill Holmes. “Lockhart has a strong softball team and it is our goal this season to be able to compete at that level.”
The victory evens the Lady Lobos’ district mark at 3-3 so far in 2013. Lehman’s next contest will be at home on Friday night against Schertz Clemens. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
