More accolades were bestowed upon Hays CISD baseball and softball athletes last week.

Once again, the Hays Lady Rebel softball team continues to reap the rewards of winning the 4A State Championship.

Five Lady Rebels were named to the Texas Sports Writers Association’s All-State Softball team, with head coach Aaron Fuller named as the 4A coach of the year.

Members of the Lady Rebels who made the TSWA first team are: Sarah Leal-pitcher; Clarissa Gonzales-first base; Brayden Pinckard-outfield; Hannah Ramsey-outfield.

Shortstop Maddy Shannon received TSWA second team honors.

In baseball, two Hays Rebels and one Lehman Lobo player earned All-Central Texas honors from the Austin American-Statesman.

Hays’ Tyler Woodmansee and Granger Studdard earned First Team All-Cen Tex honors for their work in the 2013 season.

Lehman pitcher Hunter Lehman was named as Second Team All Cen-Tex for his performance with the Lobos.

In addition, Hays baseball coach David Null was named as the 2013 Central Texas Coach of the Year by the Statesman.

Null’s award helps Hays sweep the baseball and softball coach of the year honors, as Fuller was named as the Central Texas softball coach of the year earlier this month.
