From the auctioneer’s call to the squeals, grunts, moos and clucks of animals on display, the civic center in San Marcos rang last week with the sounds of the Hays County Youth Livestock Show.

Hundreds of kids from local 4-H and FFA clubs showed off their projects in animal husbandry, home skills, ag mechanics and more at the annual event, which ran from Wednesday through Saturday.

Goats are strong, but 10-year-old Mia Wagner is stronger.
