I must make a comment on the weather change on Sunday. Only in Texas can a change come so quickly. You heard the thunder, it’s February and Dad always said “it will freeze in April, if it thunders in February.” So hard on the early gardens.

St. John Lutheran Church Men’s Fellowship met at Nona’s Café and Grill Sat. morning for breakfast preceding the business meeting at the Rec Center. Thirteen attended including Rev. Mel Newman, pastor of Grace Lutheran of San Marcos, and Emma Saxon, who accompanied her father Richard Saxon. The business meeting was held and all enjoyed the birthday cake on Emma’s birthday.

Jean Collier was transferred to Seton-Hays last Friday. She was diagnosed as having pneumonia. She remains hospitalized, undergoing treatment and tests. Hurry home, Jean.

Jim Alexander is recovering from a motorcycle accident. He has been transferred to a rehab hospital in Austin. We wish him well.

Sympathy is extended to Susan Whisenant and family in the death of her mother, Shirley Whisenant.

Congratulations to Ranson Moore, grandson of Daniel and Sharon Heideman, on placing 2nd in the breeders show of hogs. Ranson showed his Duroc sow in one of the classes in the Livestock Show in San Antonio.
