A Kyle police officer ended a high-speed motorcycle chase at gunpoint last Tuesday afternoon in front of the Kyle Dairy Queen.

Department of Public Safety officials arrested Jonathan Mulle, 23, on charges of evading arrest, a state jail felony.

Comal County DPS trooper John Vincent said he clocked Mulle in New Braunfels at the 194 mile marker of IH-35 riding his Yamaha motorcycle at speeds in excess of 120 miles per hour.

Vincent attempted to stop Mulle, but the motorcyclist fled, the trooper said.

“He turned around and looked at me and off he went,” Vincent said.

The pursuit continued for nearly 20 miles. Mulle was traveling on the northbound access road in Kyle past the 213 mile marker when Kyle Police Officer Jason Dibble stopped him at gunpoint, investigators said.

Mulle’s driver’s license listed an address in Stafford, Texas, near Houston, but 2008 arrest records for misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and possession of a controlled substance showed he lived in San Marcos.

Mulle was taken to the Comal County Jail and released Friday on a $7,500 bond.
