TxDOT announced this week that they will be closing southbound IH-35 at the FM 1327 off ramp beginning at 9 p.m. Friday. Traffic will re-enter IH-35 just north of main street.
They will close northbound Saturday afternoon. People will exit just north of Turnersville Road and will enter north of FM 1327. All frontage road traffic will have to enter the interstate via the FM 2001 entrance ramp. Local access will be maintained. If you are leaving Buda and wish to travel north, you will have to make the FM 2001 turn a round and enter via the FM 2001 ramp. All traffic traveling on the frontage north of Main Street will have to turn on Turnersville.

The City of Buda Parks and Recreation Department will host the first ever-citywide yard sale on Sat., May 24 at the pavilion at City Park. Contact the city at 312-0084 if you would like to have a space to sell your stuff. For all you other folks that just want to “shop” you will find super treasurers. Along with the yard sale, there will be a city wide clean up event for Buda residents to get rid of unwanted junk.

A fundraiser sale will held at Good Shepherd Ministries Church, 401 RM 967, in Buda, from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.on Friday, May 9, and 7:30 a.m. until noon on Saturday, May 10. Stop by for lots of good bargains.

Great Locations will soon open at a great location in Buda. The real estate office plans to open this week at the corner of RM 967 and FM 1626.

Clemente Verastegui is the new Deputy Constable at the Buda office.
According to Buda Chief of Police Bo Kidd, bike patrols will soon be peddling around Buda, mostly at the businesses out on IH 35.

The Buda Area Chamber of Commerce will meet next Wednesday, May 14, at noon at Good Shepherd Ministries Church on RM 967. The menu for the lunch is brisket with all the good food that goes with it prepared and served by ladies from the Onion Creek Senior Citizens Center. Guest speaker will be Mo Johnson, long time resident of the Buda/Kyle area and former Superintendent of the Hays School District.
