Joyce Burkhart, 74, of San Marcos, passed away May 30, 2008.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Martindale and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary 245 of Seguin. Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend she was always at her happiest when with this group of people who were so special to her. Memories of volunteering when three of her grandchildren attended Kyle schools topped the list of those special times.

Joyce is survived by husband, Arnold Burkhart of San Marcos; son, Glenn Burkhart and wife, Kay of Kyle; three daughters, Connie Manning and husband, Mike of Harvey, LA; Joyce Pruett of Joshua and Linda Smith and husband, Curtis of Lucedale, MI. She is also survived by brother, Kenneth Thomas and wife, Patty of San Angelo; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
