Flora Jean Clark Lewis, 68, of Creedmoor passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 11. Jean was born in Buda on June 8, 1940. She was a 1958 graduate of Buda High School.
Jean was born near the banks of Onion Creek and lived in and around Buda for the majority of her life. She was a breast cancer survivor of 11 years. Fiercely independent, she enjoyed her solitude but was always there when needed.
Jean was preceded in death by her father, Preston Clark; mother, Flora Galbreath; and stepfather, Bill Todd.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lori Lyn Lewis, of Dale and Keri Lewis Smeaton and husband, Bill, of Austin. She is also survived by the two lights of her life, her granddaughter, Leslie Smeaton, age13, and grandson, Billy Smeaton III, age 5.
A celebration of her life will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, July 31 at the VFW in Manchaca.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to Tom Massey and all employees of Orange Food Brokerage, where Jean had been employed for many years, for all their comfort and support through this difficult time.
