Looks like spring is right around the corner which means it’s time for that never-ending sunshine cycle that punishes parents of small children who feel shafted being made to go to bed when the sun is still up at 9 o’clock. Ah, daylight savings time. My washer-playing, barbequing husband and Dads’ favorite time of year.

Remember that Saturday is opening day of HCISD spring break week so watch out for all the crazed kiddos skating and biking and generally roaming the streets. It’s a long-needed vacation and I don’t suppose many of them are thinking clearly.

One last thing. On Thursday, there will be an Ask the Doctor Community Cancer Awareness Event at Seton on Kyle Parkway from 7-8:30 p.m. Local citizens will have an opportunity to learn about various types of cancer, risk factors, early detection strategies and prevention. It’s free and everyone is invited.
