Hays County Crime Stoppers is assisting the San Marcos Police Department in solving the following Aggravated Robbery.
On Friday, January 15, 2010 at approximately 8:20 p.m., the Levi Store at the Tanger Outlet Mall on IH-35 in San Marcos was robbed at gunpoint. A store employee was in the storage room when he observed a male with a black handgun in his waistband, wielding a knife. The suspect told the employee that there were two other subjects with him in the front of the store with the customers and other employees. The employee observed that the male was wearing a bandana over his face that covered everything but his eyes. The suspect then ordered the employee to place the money from the safe into a gray backpack with red accents. The employee complied and was ordered to the ground, his hands bound with packing tape, then taped to his ankles behind his back. The suspect left the store through the back door and triggered the alarm. Another employee from the front of the store found the employee in the back of the store and called 911. Approximately $2,000 in cash was taken.
The suspect was described as possibly a hispanic male wearing a baggy navy blue windbreaker jacket, black bandana, baggy black jeans and gloves. The other employee, who was assisting customers in the front of the store, said she did not notice anyone suspicious, in response to the robber’s claim that two other suspects were in the front of the store with the customers and other store employees. San Marcos police investigators have no leads as to the identity of this robber and need your help in solving this violent armed robbery.
