Kyle police arrested the parents of a local child on April 13 for allegedly injuring their two-month-old baby in June 2009, authorities say.
Donald Corbley, 28, and Brenda Rodriguez, 34, were nabbed at their home in the 100 block of Spring Branch Cove in Kyle on active felony warrants.
Police officers made the arrests after an investigation led them to believe that the child’s parents were responsible for multiple fractures in the baby’s ribs and clavicle, Kyle police spokesperson Capt. Pedro Hernandez said.
Another sibling also had injuries, police said. The children have not been with their parents since the original incident, police said.
Rodriguez was charged with two first-degree felony counts of injury to a child. She has been released from jail on bonds totaling $70,000. Corbley is still in the Hays County Jail on two third-degree felony counts of injury to a child on bonds totaling $85,000.
