It’s getting warmer outside and the days are getting longer; summer is just around the corner. The Buda Public Library will again have a summer reading program for all area children. Last year 292 children participated in this fun program. If you missed out last year or would like participate again this year mark your calendar. The kickoff for the Summer Reading Program is June 3 and registration begins May 17. The Library will also have a Summer Reading Club for those who would like to keep track of their reading progress throughout the summer.
The library also has some ongoing programs that might work into your summer schedule. The library hosts toddler story time (18 – 36 months) from 10:30 – 11 a.m. every Tuesday. Toddler story time focuses on those children who are just beginning to explore the world on two feet. Finger plays, songs, short books and an easy fun craft make this fast paced story time a delight for children. The library also hosts preschool story time (3 – 5 years) from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. every Wednesday. Preschool story time offers the older child opportunities to interact in the story time experience through songs, finger plays, movement rhymes and longer stories. Toddler story time and preschool story time is offered year-round excluding the last two weeks of August. Come join the fun.
