Pre-K registration for the 2010-2011 school year is scheduled for next Monday-Friday, July 12-16, at Simon Middle School. Held at Hemphill and Tom Green elementary schools, the district’s half-day Pre-K program is for four-year-old students who meet eligibility criteria that include: qualify for free or reduced lunch, limited English proficiency, parent is on active military duty, or child is in foster care.
Students may be registered at any time, but designated times, based on child’s last name, are recommended to cut down on wait time. The scheduled includes Monday, July 12, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. for A-F; Tuesday, July 13, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. for G-L; Wednesday, July 14, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. for M-R; Thursday, July 15, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. for S-Z; and Friday, July 16, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. for open registration.
Parents will be asked to provide a birth certificate, immunization record, Social Security card or state ID and proof of residence.
New student registration for the district’s elementary, middle and high school students is set for July 26-27 during regular school hours. Parents unsure about which school their child will attend should call 268-2141.
