Alta Mae Kretchmar, 88, of Austin, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the Summit at Westlake Hills. She was born to Walter and Frieda Benner on March 29, 1922 in Manchaca.

Alta owned and operated Honda of Austin Motorcycles Sales and Service from 1961 until her retirement in 1985. In her later years, she took several cruises and enjoyed visiting far away and beautiful places, such as Japan, Russia, Europe and Hawaii.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter Helen Cutler of Buda; son Bobby Kretchmar of Manchaca; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her brother, Edward Benner, also survives her.

Graveside services were held Monday, August 16, 2010 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, Pflugerville.
