Main Street Café will be opening soon under new management. A lot of work has been going on in the brick building that was once the post office for Buda. More to come on this new downtown business.

The new owner of the old post office building in downtown Buda is looking for someone to lease the building. Any takers out there?

The old Culvers’ building located on Old San Antonio Road will soon be painted orange and become a 24/7 Whataburger. The planned opening is mid-November.

Groundwork is taking place on Main Street next to Auto Zone where the new O’Reilly Auto Parts will be built.

Watch for a new strip center to go in on FM 1626 just north of the intersection with RM 967 near Debbie Thames’ insurance building.

Check out the new sign at the corner of Main and Railroad streets for Independence Title Company, Robert Giberson, Attorney and William and Kate Johnson. Great looking sign and the new landscaping looks good too.

The northbound access road on IH 35 from a quarter mile south of Hillside Terrace to a quarter mile north of Hillside Terrace will be closed for about four weeks. Traffic will be detoured around the closed section and access to Hillside Terrace will be restricted to Kelly Smith Lane. Reason for all this is the new overpass that is currently being constructed. It will get better!

The Buda Chamber of Commerce will meet Wednesday, Sept. 8, at noon at Good Shepherd Ministries, 401 RM 967 in Buda. Guest speaker will be our very own Hays Free Press Publisher Bob Barton.
