Odds & Ends
by MYRTLE HEIDEMAN
Who said there was a shortage of bees? Two more hives were discovered in the Uhland area when two ranchers were mowing weeds and cleaning a fencerow. One escaped the bee stings by closing the windows of his tractor cab, but the other was not as fortunate, even though he ran to a building nearby and closed the door. Bees had stung and covered him, luckily he had a can of spray in the building and after a dousing, most of the bees relented. He called neighbors on his cell phone, who called EMS. He was transferred to a hospital and on last report was doing okay. He was not admitted to the hospital. Folks, take heed. Mow your weeds, pick up piles of trash, barrels, buckets, etc. They, the bees, are swarming, looking for a home.

Glad to report Clarence Heideman has returned home after a few days in the hospital and doing okay. John Karnstadt is still not doing well, though at last report, he had returned home to the Texan. Raymond and Myrtle Heideman appreciate the phone calls and visits. For “old people” they are doing okay.
