On Center
by BRENDA STEWART
I don’t know if you guys have been watching, but the Hays Free Press has been making some changes lately. Although it is happening all over the paper, one area that we have decided to put a larger focus on is all the incredible events that are happening around us. From major theatrical and dance productions compliments of Texas State University to local music scenes, farmers markets and festivals.
The online calendar holds a wealth of information and is just a click away. You can even create your own calendar at our website and then choose the up-coming events that interest you to personalize it. Our online calendar also enables you to submit an event to be placed on the calendar. It’s pretty amazing – and growing bigger every day.
And now that we are amassing all this information, we are beginning to expand the print edition calendar sections as well. This month’s All Around Hays has our most comprehensive calendars to date, so check it out. It should be a useful reference that you will be able to utilize throughout the month.
In light of this, today’s column will be the last On Center as we attempt to keep the redundancy to a minimum. All of the information you would normally get here will now be included in the Community Bulletin. One stop shopping. Without all the snark.
Anyway, it’s been fun. Let us know about local events and we’ll try to keep everyone in the loop. As always, watch out for the kiddos, vote, keep on coming downtown and be a part of helping historic Kyle continue to thrive.
