Abel Villareal, Jr., 38, lost his battle with leukemia on Thursday, September 23, 2010, after a courageous fight. He was born on October 20, 1971.
He is survived by daughters, Lia and Leslie of Kyle; girlfriend, Deanne Ienna of Granite Shoals; parents, Abel and Margaret Villareal; sisters Brenda Rodriguez and Rosa Linda Villareal; niece Brittany Rodriguez; nephews Chris Rodriguez and Brandon Almaguer all of Austin; and extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Abel will be forever remembered as a warm, humorous and compassionate person who always thought of others before himself. He was a musician who loved all kinds of music. Abel played the drums, guitar, flute and other instruments. He was a member of the SCA. He loved horses and sword fighting and it was his dream and goal to become a knight. It was his passion. Abel loved to cook, travel, explore and he loved history. His imagination was like no other and he loved to make home movies.
He was a long time employee of ThunderCloud Subs on Riverside Drive in Austin.
Funeral services were held on Monday, September 27 at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel in Austin.
The family is requesting that monetary donations be made to either the Leukemia Society or towards a special college fund being set up for both his daughters.
