Mrs. Santos M. Leal, age 86, our beloved, died on Monday, January 2, 2012, following a courageous fight. She was born in San Antonio on December 27, 1925 and lived in Kyle for the past 60 years. As a happy homemaker, she loved cooking tamales for the Christmas holidays; and loved her sewing, making dolls and blankets.
She was the mother of 11 children: Mary Hernandez from San Antonio; Rudy Sifuentez, Sr. (deceased) from Toledo, Ohio and wife, Dora; Olga Leal Garza and husband, Carlos; Maria Teresa Leal Saucedo and husband, Mike; Edward Leal and wife, Mary Esther; Henry Leal, Susie Leal, Johnny Leal and wife, Della; Erma Arredondo and husband, Robert; Richard Leal and wife, Kelly; and Oscar Leal. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Maria Diaz from San Antonio, 30 grandchildren and 35 great- grandchildren and four great–great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Maria Herrera from Mexico and brother, Alberto Martinez from San Antonio.
The Rosary was recited Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Harrell Funeral Home in Kyle with Deacon Rey Garza reciting. Mass was celebrated Friday, January 6, 2012 at Santa Cruz Catholic Church with Father Rito Davila celebrating. Interment followed at Live Oak Cemetery.
