Marie Jacqueline (Jackie) Kirksey, a resident of Kyle, went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on January 15, 2012 at the age of 75. She was born on February 29, 1936 in Jesup, Georgia to Ernest and Martha (Mobley) Eason. She graduated from Ludowici High School in 1954. She was known for her sharp wit, gracefulness and loving and embracing spirit. She was a devout Christian and was indeed a Proverbs 31 woman. She opened her home to friends and they became family. Jackie was a retired Civil Service secretary. She was an amazing wife, mother, sister, daughter and special friend to so many people.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband of 58 years, Simeon Kirksey; son Robin Kirksey and wife Linda; daughter, Melanie Kirksey Marcus; daughter Ramona Brown and husband Blake; grandchildren Jason Kirksey, Cory Brown, Jessica Kirksey, Christine Brown and Drew Brown; sister Leigh Lane and husband Roger; nieces and nephews Buddy Lane, Stephanie Lane O’Banion, Jamie Lane and Regina Haggard; other loving relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Martha Eason, grandmother, Annie Hall, and brothers Jimmy and James (PeeWee) Eason.
A Celebration of Life Service was held on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Harrell Funeral Home in Kyle. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Northwest Assembly of God, 2714 Hunters Green Street, San Antonio, Texas 78231.
