A San Marcos man and his passenger died Sunday morning after a major vehicle collision in Buda.
Robert Johnson, 66, of San Marcos, and his passenger, Lina Al-Khaldi, 57, of Austin, were heading west on FM 2001 when they failed to control their speed and collided with Kristine Breeden of Buda, a Department of Public Safety official said.
Breeden had slowed on FM 2001 to let the vehicle in front of her turn left onto Quail Run in Buda, when Johnson collided with Breeden from behind at 9:49 a.m., DPS said.
Breeden, who was driving a 2000 Toyota truck, was uninjured, DPS said.
Johnson and his passenger were on a 2004 Harley Davidson. DPS said neither Johnson, nor Al-Khaldi was wearing a helmet.
Pct. 5 Justice of the Peace Scott Cary pronounced Johnson and Al-Khaldi dead at the scene. Their bodies have been transported to Central Texas Autopsy in Lockhart, DPS said.
