This world lost a distinguished and elegant 62 year-old Southern Belle on Sunday, September 7, 2014.
Brenda Carol Young Schmidt, our Tyler Rose, of Buda, TX, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and God the Father Almighty. Her East Texas (Tyler) roots were deep, but she also loved the Texas Hill Country and Austin.
She was a corporate president, educator, baseball team mother, football fan (especially the Longhorns), beautiful wife and friend, Christian mother, and above all, “Nana” to her grandsons.
She leaves behind many friends and relatives; her husband of 34 years, Jimmy Schmidt; they were married March 1, 1980, by Pastor Fred Kern , sons Chris Spurgeon, Jamie Schmidt and wife Lisa, Tommy Schmidt and fiancé Ashley Artis and daughter Emily Kimbrell; her grandsons Nicolas and Derrick Schmidt and J.P. Kimbrell will miss her greatly. She is also survived by her parents Thomas and Maxine Young of Bullard, TX; brother Mike Young and wife Karol of Farmington, New Mexico; also Geri Schmidt and Corkey Hass and Bobby and Sue Schmidt, along with mother-in-law Helen Schmidt of Creedmoor; also numerous loving nieces, nephews, & cousins and her faithful companions, Max and Priscilla, their malti-poos.
Brenda requested that a celebration of life be held in her honor which will take place at the Creedmoor Community Center on Friday, September 19, 2014, with arrivals beginning at 6:00 p.m.; casual attire please with a Longhorn or Hawaiian theme in her honor.
Pastor Roy Thoene (retired) of First Baptist church of Gresham, TX (Tyler) will deliver words of praise to God for sending Brenda to us. Her best friend, Trinea Moreno, will deliver the eulogy.
Brenda loved to travel, including Hawaii, Alaskan Cruises, Las Vegas, Colorado, Ruidoso and many other places.
She is greatly missed and leaves a void in our lives that can never be filled. She wanted no sadness, just celebration.
