Winta Beth Moody, 87, passed away Sept. 16, 2014, in Flower Mound, Texas.
Funeral service was held Saturday, Sept. 20 with burial at Tolar Cemetary in Tolar, Texas.
Winta Beth Nix was born Feb. 9, 1927, in Tolar, Texas, to Oscar and Nettie Nix. She was the middle child with two older and two younger brothers. Her childhood was spent on a farm near Tolar. She graduated from Tolar High School in 1944. She married Rue Weldon Moody shortly after high school graduation. She followed his coaching career until 1961 when she went back to school to get her Bachelor’s degree at Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth. She became a mother in 1959 when they adopted Rue Allen Moody, their only child. Winta Beth taught second grade for 25 years and retired in Granbury. She was a member of Acton Baptist Church since 1971 until her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, all four brothers and Rue Weldon Moody, her husband of 67 years.
Winta Beth Moody is survived by son, Rue Allen Moody and his wife Rene Moody; three grandchildren, Jennifer Shrum of Austin, TX, Ryan Moody of Addison, TX, and Tim Spruill and his wife, Jessica Spruill, of Buda, TX; great-grandson, Zane Austin Spruill of Buda, TX; sister-in-law, Evelyn Nix of Portland, Ore.; niece, Sandra Kay Coggins of Portland, Ore.; and nephew, Virgil Hue Nix of Lincoln, Calif.; brother-in-law, Allen Moody of Bedford, Texas; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Steele of Ft.
