Inconsistency hindered the Lehman Lady Lobos in a 13-25, 24-26, 13-25 loss to the Austin High Maroons Tuesday at Lobo Gym.
Austin High’s Anna Carlson finished with 12 kills while Hannah Stinson tallied 24 assists for the Maroons.
Lehman junior Angel Cruz scored six kills, while senior libero Ofelia Negrete had 24 assists. Junior Kynslee Noriega had 24 digs.
Austin High took advantage of Lady Lobos miscues in the first set. Austin took a 17-8 lead and never looked back.
Lehman rallied in a hard fought second frame. Both teams traded points before the Lady Lobos built a 20-17 advantage. Their lead grew to 24-20. But Lehman couldn’t put away the Maroons, even with match point in hand.
Led by Carlson and Breanna Jackson, Austin High closed the set on a 6-0 run to claim the set.
Austin High carried that momentum into the final set, where the Maroons put the Lady Lobos away.
