Bring the family out this Saturday for the second annual Driftwood Gumbo Cook-off. Enjoy an afternoon of live zydeco, blues and jazz music, local libations and a silent auction. And of course, gumbo. The event started in 2013 following a debate on the merits of including okra in gumbo. How do you prefer it? Head over to the cook-off from 1-5 p.m. at Oohla Bean Inn and Retreat in Driftwood to find out. Food and beverages are included in the price of admission. Proceeds benefit The Longevity Foundation. In this photo from last year’s event are Ted Stewart (left) and Robert Howard, with Rhea Dasgupta’ in the background.
