Maria Elisa Cohee, or “Lily” as she was known to family and friends, peacefully went to be with God in the early morning on December 12, 2014, in the comfort of her home. The rain that fell afterwards echoed the grief left by the loss of a life cherished by so many.
Lily was born on January 22, 1952, in the Bronx, New York to Felix and Mary Cardona. In 1971, she married her high school sweetheart, Lynn Cohee, and a few years later had two sons, Lynn and Travis.
She had a personality that naturally drew people to her. Her positive and enthusiastic presence was contagious, spreading optimism to those around her. She had a passion for gardening and often shared her love and knowledge of plants with her grandchildren. The grandchildren loved spending time with Lynn and Lily, digging in the dirt and pulling up vegetables in the garden. She was a caring and supportive mother, devoted and loving wife, and a loyal, trusted friend.
Lily is survived by Lynn Cohee, her husband of 43 years and her son Lynn with his wife Alyssa and their two children, Lynn and Lily, as well as her other son, Travis with his wife Christina and their three children, Elia, Jachin, and Samaria.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Harrell funeral home, Kyle, TX.
