A teen suspect in a 2013 fatal hit-and-run auto-pedestrian accident requested his jury trial be postponed.
Nathaniel Eddleman, 18, was scheduled to stand trial Monday morning on a failure to stop and render aid charge, but that court appearance was cancelled at the defendant’s request, according to court records.
Records didn’t state a reason behind the cancellation. Neither Eddleman’s attorney, nor the prosecutor returned calls seeking comment. The trial was rescheduled for March 30.
Eddleman is suspected of striking Kyle jogger Phillip Duran, 37, with a vehicle and fleeing the scene, leaving the victim to die. The fatal accident occurred overnight on April 27, 2013, the day Eddleman turned 17.
Duran set out on a late night run and never returned home, according to police. His body was discovered the next day.
